In this gripping episode, Ha Woo-shin and Choi Tae-sung execute a daring plan to locate the Adamas within the Haesong mansion. They trigger the mansion's fire alarm system, which uses halogen gas instead of water, causing an evacuation and providing a brief window to search the chairman's study. However, Ms. Kwon, the head housekeeper, deceives Woo-shin by claiming that Secretary Yoon is still inside. Woo-shin re-enters the mansion to rescue her, only to find himself trapped as the firewalls descend and gas fills the room. As he loses consciousness, he glimpses the Adamas hidden in the ceiling .
Meanwhile, Song Soo-hyun continues his investigation into their father's murder. He confronts Lee Chang-woo, who maintains his confession, but Soo-hyun suspects a deeper conspiracy. Reporter Kim Seo-hee visits Chang-woo, revealing that she witnessed the real killer and that her father provided false testimony to protect her. Chang-woo warns her to stop investigating, fearing for her safety. Unbeknownst to them, Mr. Lee of Team A learns of their activities and orders their elimination .
The episode also delves into Chairman Kwon's family dynamics. He informs his son, Hyun-jo, of his impending retirement and plans to pass leadership of Haesong to him. Flashbacks reveal that his other son, Min-jo, rejected the company due to its criminal activities, leading to a strained relationship before Min-jo's untimely death .
