Directed by Roland Emmerich, 2012 is a massive disaster movie based on the idea that the world would end in the year 2012, inspired by interpretations of the Mayan calendar.


The story follows writer Jackson Curtis, played by John Cusack. When scientists discover that Earth’s core is overheating and the planet is about to collapse, governments secretly build giant arks to save a small portion of humanity. Jackson struggles to protect his family while the world faces earthquakes, tsunamis, and massive destruction.
